UNCFSP will be assisting the Department of Defense (DoD) in meeting its immediate human capital needs by launching the Minority Acquisition Professionals Co-op Program.

 

The co-operative education program will build acquisition and procurement knowledge and skill sets of minority undergraduates (juniors and seniors) attending HBCU/MIs. Students who match the eligibility criteria will be recruited during their sophomore year for entry into the program at the beginning of their junior year.

 

The co-op program will be based on a strong partnership between students, their educational institutions, and DoD personnel. It will enrich students’ education by providing them with the relevant job experiences, mentoring, professional development training, and networking opportunities to supplement their academic knowledge and increase their ability to perform successfully in their professional careers. In addition, it will provide DoD Services with an opportunity to take an active role in developing and shaping its future workforce, including an annual conference for outreach, recruitment, and promotion.
